Annual testing of your backflow prevention device is mandated by your public utility company to ensure it’s functioning properly.

Let one of our certified backflow assembly testers test your device. We’ll submit the report to your water provider. If you use your well for irrigating your yard, you are not required to test your device. However, if that well is used for your primary water supply to your home, it is a good idea to have it tested annually to ensure your drinking water is safe.

If you have received notice from your utility company that your testing is due outside the Spring Activation timeframe the service is $75.

There are FOUR backflow prevention devices. THREE of them are testable.

PVB Pressure Vacuum Breaker Pros: Least Expensive. Brass. Cons: Must be 12 inches higher than highest output of water. Vulnerable to damage.	DCVA Double Check Vacuum Breaker Pros: Can be put into underground landscape box. Brass. Cons: More expensive than PVB	RP (Required by SUB) Reduced Pressure Pros: Required by SUB. Brass. Cons: Most expensive.	AVB (NOT Testable) Atmospheric Vacuum Breaker Pros: Less Expensive Cons: Must be 12 inches higher than highest output of water. Vulnerable to damage. Plastic.
